In a recent interview with “Fox & Friends,” US President Donald Trump revealed that his efforts to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine might improve his chances of getting into heaven.
“I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,” Trump said. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”
Trump’s comments come after he hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders at the White House to discuss ending the Russia-Ukraine war. This isn’t the first time Trump has linked his peace efforts to spiritual salvation. Since surviving an assassination attempt last year, Trump has adopted a more religious tone, saying he was “saved by God to make America great again” during his inauguration
Trump’s spiritual adviser, Paula White, has led prayer gatherings at the White House, further highlighting Trump’s increased emphasis on faith. Leavitt, who also holds prayer sessions before briefings, believes Trump’s comments on Ukraine reflect his genuine desire to please God
