Turning Point UK held a vigil for their founder, Charlie Kirk, at the Montgomery statue in Whitehall on Friday despite heavy rain.
An estimated 500 people attended the gathering where speeches were delivered by Turning Point UK CEO Jack Ross and youth ambassador Young Bob.
The UK branch of Turning Point paid tribute to Kirk in front of a large Union Jack emblazoned with Psalm 125:3.
Jack Ross described Kirk as a “good Christian man” whose passion came from helping people.
Ross asked for “no mercy” for Tyler Robinson, the man accused of fatally shooting Kirk at Utah Valley University.
Bill, a Christian attendee, said Kirk “would want to open discussion”, deserving “a lot of respect”.
Charlie Kirk was a divisive figure known for his debate style and outspoken views.
He co-founded Turning Point USA, a conservative nonprofit organization promoting Christian conservatism on college campuses.
Following Kirk’s death, vigils were held not only in London but also in other locations like Lexington, Kentucky .
