Ghanaian Gospel Musician Piesie Esther Refuses to congratulate Empress Gifty on Ghana Music Awards USA win.
Ghanaian Gospel musician Piesie Esther says she won’t congratulate fellow artist Empress Gifty on her win at the Ghana Music Awards USA, citing her own experience of not receiving congratulations from gospel musicians when she won an award.
Piesie Esther stated:
“I won my award, and no gospel musician congratulated me, so it’s not a must for me to congratulate Empress Gifty.”
In a later clarification, Piesie Esther emphasized that she has a good relationship with Empress Gifty, saying, “I don’t have any problem with Empress Gifty.
I don’t know anyone who can boldly say I have an issue with him or her.” She explained that her reluctance to mention Empress Gifty’s name initially was to avoid reigniting controversy surrounding Empress Gifty’s win.
The controversy has sparked discussion in the Ghanaian gospel music industry, with some interpreting Piesie Esther’s statement as a sign of tension between her and Empress Gifty, while others see it as a genuine reflection on the lack of congratulations in the industry.
