The family of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, a respected international evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, has announced his passing.
According to a statement titled “Glorious Transition,” Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai died on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.
The family described him as “a faithful soldier of the cross” who dedicated over six decades of his life to evangelism, teaching, and prophetic ministry. His work impacted millions of lives and transformed destinies globally.
The statement shows Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai’s legacy, saying, “He was a spiritual general known for evangelism, a founding father of faith, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a mentor to many, and his life was a testament to God’s power and love.”
While mourning his physical absence, the family rejoices in the knowledge that he has finished his race and is now resting in eternal praise. Details of the obsequies will be announced in due course.
Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai’s life and ministry have been celebrated by many. Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State described him as “God’s gift to the State” during his 80th birthday celebration.
Pastor E. A. Adeboye of RCCG also paid tribute, saying, “It’s only when you get to heaven that you’ll realize the power of your influence here on earth”.
