A 71-year-old former Methodist President, Steven Wild, has pleaded not guilty to 11 sexual offense charges, including 10 counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault, allegedly committed between 2004 and 2019.
Wild, who served as Methodist Conference President for 12 months in 2015 and was chair of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Methodist Circuit from 2008 to 2022, is set to face trial on November 2, 2026, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for September 18, 2026.
The trial, expected to last three weeks, has prompted prayers for truth and justice from the community.
