The Pope has urged the faithful to join together in prayer and fasting on August 22nd to implore peace in war-torn regions around the world.
During his weekly General Audience, Pope Leo XIV emphasized the need for a “disarmed and disarming peace” in areas plagued by conflict.
The Pope’s appeal coincides with the liturgical commemoration of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrated on August 22nd.
He invited all the faithful to mark the day by praying and fasting for peace, particularly for those suffering in the Holy Land, Ukraine, and other conflict zones.
“May Mary, Queen of Peace, intercede so that peoples may find the path of peace,” Pope Leo XIV prayed.
The Pope’s call for a day of prayer and fasting shows his commitment to promoting peace and justice globally.
