Voddie Baucham Jr., a renowned pastor, theologian, and bestselling author, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 56 due to an emergency medical incident.
His ministry, Founders Ministries, announced his death, stating, “We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living.”
Baucham was known for his passionate defense of biblical authority and his writings on family discipleship and cultural apologetics.
He authored several influential books, including, Family Driven Faith (2007), Fault Lines (2021)
Baucham’s health issues were well-documented. In February 2021, he underwent treatment for heart failure, including a quadruple bypass surgery at Mayo Clinic Florida.
Despite this setback, he continued to serve and preach, recently relocating to Florida to lead Founders Seminary.
As president of Founders Seminary, Baucham aimed to train pastors and leaders committed to historic, confessional theology.
His legacy includes a robust body of work and a network of disciples. Friends and fellow leaders, including musician Tauren Wells and pastor Tom Buck, have expressed shock and grief over his passing.
Baucham is survived by his wife, Bridget, whom he married in 1989, their nine children, and several grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have not been announced yet.
